Let’s get started.
I know the word “purpose” is everywhere these days, but I’m grateful to do work that involves my purpose.
If I were to define my purpose, it would be something like this:
“To recognize, create, transform, and produce an end result that enhances, improves, and uplifts the lives that interact with it.”
I love what I do.
It brings me excitement and joy, it inspires me to do innovative work, it makes me feel alive.
As an Interior Designer, I strive to bring this joy, this vitality, this excitement, to my projects and clients.
ABOUT CAROL
I’ve been an Interior Designer since 2004.
But before we get to credentials…. let me describe myself in two words:

- I have an instinctive sense for space and design. This is innate; it’s why I do what I do.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER
For the past 20 years, I’ve successfully completed many residential remodels, renovations and new construction projects.
In many of those projects:
– I was instrumental in creating and designing the floorplans.
– worked closely with the architect, builder and contractor to achieve cohesive designs, including interior, exterior, and site.
–demonstrated exceptional skills in interior architectural design and visualization
–utilized realistic hand sketching (yes, old school!) during meetings to communicate ideas and design intent. A picture is truly worth a thousand words.
From 2008 until 2017, I was solo-practitioner of my own residential interior design business in Tampa. In December of 2017, I moved to Sarasota because I wanted to live in an area with a strong presence of modern architecture, art and design. To this day, I’m constantly inspired by the beauty of my surroundings, and inspired by the local talent in architecture and design.

Modern Artistry represents specialized and thoughtful interior design services in a modern and contemporary aesthetic.
It is governed by specific values, standards, style and most importantly, heart.
The approach to design is holistic.
It’s about more than interiors.
It’s about how the individual client’s needs and desires shape the direction of the design.
It’s about who they are, how they live, what they love, how they want to feel….
It’s about the space as a whole, the home orientation, the site, the lot, the surroundings.
There is focus on function, wellbeing, beauty, and intention.
It’s about creating and delivering the best possible design – the ultimate, truly – for the client, within the parameters given.
